Under the patronage of His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Aidan Mousa Al Zahrani, the Vice Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research held the event of the third scientific research day for faculty members 2020 AD, on Wednesday 17 Rabi ‘II 1442 AH corresponding to December 2, 2020 AD.

 

Thirty-one research posters were presented to the faculty members and three of them were nominated to win the first three ranks in this event. Then the event program was opened with verses from the Holy Qur’an recited by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Qarni. The opening speech was given by the Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Lamia Al-Jamea, in which she reviewed the college’s achievements in the field of scientific research over the past years, and the contribution to promoting and encouraging scientific research among faculty members.

 

Then, Dr. Ahmed Farraj talked about the procedures and policies of scientific research in the college which was followed by a video demonstrating the achievements of the Vice deanship of postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research.

 

The Vice deanship hosted Dr. Abdullah Al Zaied, a consultant hematologist and head of the Genetic Hematology Center at Qatif Central Hospital. His participation was about stimulation and innovation in the field of research and the difficulties facing the researcher.

 

After that, His Excellency the Dean of the College gave his speech in which he stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has doubled fundings on scientific research until it has achieved the forty-second rank in the world. He also stressed that interest in scientific research is not an academic luxury as much as it is a necessary and urgent need that fulfills the aspirations of nations and reflects its ambition and insistence on Achieving more prosperity in the various aspects of life. It was with the grace of God and then thanks to the directives of our wise leadership, the Kingdom witnessed the growth and creativity in the 2030 vision for an ambitious country, a prosperous economy, and a vibrant society. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took the lead in research and patents at the level of the Arab world.

 

In conclusion, His Excellency the Dean of the College honored the guests of the ceremony and distributed certificates of appreciation to the participants from the faculty members and awards for the first three ranks, namely:
