Welcome Remarks 

We are thrilled to invite academics, students and healthcare professionals from all universities, colleges and hospitals across the Kingdom to the first Digital Transformation Hackathon in Healthcare and Medical Education organized under the paragon of the Vice Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences, Ministry of Defense.

About the event

During the Hackathon, participants will co-develop prototypes applying different techniques and obtain feedback from experts to iterate and pitch their proposed solutions.

Prototyping material will be provided during the event. Teams will present their solutions to the judges and the top three teams will be selected as winners. Participants will mainly focus on the three types of innovation: product or service innovation (innovation in technology, tools or instrument, and innovation in knowledge or methods).

  • Data-based work – facilitate data-enabled insights and decisions through efficient, real-time, and appropriate data sharing, integration, and secure access.
  • Collaboration-based work – pursue frictionless, agile, fully-integrated, secure internal and external collaboration.
  • Model-based work – model any system or process by creating a structured, executable digital description of the system.
  • Aiming Process transformation – improve efficiency and effectiveness through end-user focused process automation.
  • Leveraging Artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) – accelerate teaching and learning missions through infusion of powerful AI/ML techniques.
  • Improving Culture and workforce – promote a workforce and workforce culture with the essential traits of a digital workforce: adaptable, driven, innovative, connected, and open.

Speaker Workshop: Design, development, utilization, management and evaluation are the five basic domains of the field. These terms refer to both areas of the knowledge base and to functions performed by professionals in the field. Each domain of Instructional Technology includes a body of knowledge based on both research and experience.

Digital Transformation Hackathon in Healthcare and Medical Education will have Six themes:

  • Internet of Things (IoT) and Wearables in Healthcare.

There will be cash prizes for the three winning teams as follows:

  • 20,000 SAR – 1st prize
  • 10,000 SAR – 2nd prize
  • 5,000 SAR – 3rd prize
